This programme will develop your understanding of domestic abuse, and your ability to respond effectively when you have concerns.
By the end of the programme you will have:
— Clarified what is meant by domestic abuse, and the different forms it can take
— Identified alerting signs in people who may be being subjected to domestic abuse, including some high risk indicators
— Developed your awareness of some of the main impacts on children, and
— Learned how to ask appropriate questions to establish whether a person is being subjected to domestic abuse.
The programme is informed by up-to-date theory, research, case material, law and guidance, and will be supported by a comprehensive handout pack.
Before you join this discussion, it is expected that you have booked on to attend and worked through the handout pack which would have been sent to you 2 days in advance. This will take you approximately 90 minutes to complete.
This event is suitable for professionals in all Working Together Groups.
Due to the current social distancing restrictions in place in light of COVID-19, the CSCP has worked with our experienced trainers to ensure that safeguarding training can still be made available to multi-agency partners. Although, there will be some changes for all delegates to note prior to booking:
— Delegates need to apply to join the course.
— Delegates will be sent the link for the handout pack two working days before the advertised training date, instructions will be provided.
— We have made the handout pack available across 2 days to help fit in with your changed working arrangements.
— Delegates are expected to work through the handouts, prior to the virtual session.
Before the training, we expect delegates to:
— Dedicate sufficient time to work through the handouts prior to the virtual session.
— Not share amend or adapt anything from the handouts, the copyright of these documents is held by the trainer.
— Please ensure you have the correct software on your device to join the virtual session.
— Please join in the virtual session earlier than advertised to allow for any IT issues.
Failure of any of the above will result in the delegate not receiving their certificate of accreditation.
