By the end of the course you will have:
— Been introduced to a framework for making sense of the main actions of drugs that are commonly misused
— Clarified what constitutes ‘drug dependence’, and some of the reasons why a person might use drugs in a dependent and/or problematic way
— Explored some of the main effects parental substance misuse can have on children at different ages and developmental stages
— Considered a range of case scenarios to identify concerning information and unknown factors, and linked this to a framework for assessing children’s needs in substance misusing families.
This event is suitable for professionals in all Working Together Groups and meets the requirements of Level 3 of the Intercollegiate Document.
